Bright colours and fragrant oils infuse your bathtub with joy. Let the colour and fragrance act as the bridge between worlds! The Cempasúchil flower is one of the most culturally significant elements of Día de Muertos and is used as a pathway for spirits to find their way back home to their families. We invite everyone to decorate their baths the way we would decorate our homes and ofrendas during Día de Muertos with this incredibly fragrant bath bomb.
Co-Create is a product creation programme for Lush staff, aiming to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities. Original Co-creator of this product, Ro De La Monja shares their inspiration for this Día de Muertos product:
“Cempasúchil is the Nahuatl name of the Marigold flower that has been used in the festival and ritual of Día De Muertos since the beginning of the holiday in pre-Hispanic times. Between the months of October and November, it is impossible to escape the intoxicating aroma of Cempasúchil wafting through the streets and homes of Mexico, a signifier of both autumn and Día de Muertos.”
